365 Days of Pattern

This pattern journey came about to due to feeling a little burn out from the pattern game of social media. I found myself creating due to the sake of creating rather than trying to grow and gain an understanding of my niche/preferred style.

For the challenge, I decided to put rules on myself. One being I had to use one colour per month, though nearing the end I kinda cheated and used a similar colour but I was just enjoying it so much by that time.

Throughout the 365 days, I found my love is geometrics with more of a lean towards the use of incorporating lines. Typography or florals were probably my least favourite and iconography in patterns was a closed least liked. Other gained insights actually came from the colour usage. I rarely liked reds, but during this journey, I found reds and oranges, to be super fresh to use compared to my fall back blues.

In the last month, September 2020, I went back and attempted to remake some of the patterns from the past months with few additions. That was truly so nice to do as I felt somewhat of a corrector, going over past work to improve on as best I could.

I can say, that the journey was really eye opening and now I can put the collection of my efforts all in one place!
